We believe that every person is called to minister to the world and the church. There are no "little people" in the body of Christ, and there are no "insignificant" ministries. Ministry teams are filled with students who are involved in an area of ministry based on their desires, spiritual gifts and natural gifts. We'd love to have ALL of our students committed to being part of a ministry where they serve God. Examples of these teams include drama, music, media, greeting, organizing/planning special events, video, sound, website development, administrative help, and outreach. We invite you to join us for MERGE every Thursday night at 7pm! Crazy fun games, dynamic worship, the Word of God coming at ya hard and strong, and personal ministry time every single week. We guarantee you’ll go away different or your money back! Oh wait...... The best part it’s FREE, so forget the money part! But trust us, it’s GOOD! MERGE is open to all ages from Grade 6 through to College & University Students. Imagine walking into a safe place where you are loved and accepted for who you are. We always try to make sure you feel welcome and get connected with others your own age. We open up worshipping our BIG God through music that will rock your socks and hopefully rocks God’s socks (if He wears any!) Next we are ready for the Word Pastor Tony does his best to preach messages that are relevant yet challenge us in our walk of faith. That’s pretty much it... Oh ya.. and we love to hang out after the service and eat, play games and spend time lovin’ on each other. (in a good way of course!)
CoreSG
A Core is a small group that meets on a weekly basis with others of your own age, gender and interests. It is a fun place to meet people and develop a stronger relationship with God. In a Core Small Group you will make lasting friendships that you can do life with. Our small groups meet all over the greater Fredericton area. Merge Band
The SSY Bands helps fulfill the great commission by facilitating an atmosphere that is charged with God’s presence. We strive for excellence in everything we do. SSY music ministry is much more than a collection of talented people. We are a unified group in vision, focus and purpose leading generations into a genuine experience with God. Drama
When people think about Smythe Street Cathedral most everyone thinks of our annual Easter production. We have a talented and creative group of students who are passionate about theater and acting. We use drama during our weekly Merge services, at Christmas, Easter, and our annual Dinner Theater fundraiser. If you are interested in getting involved please contact us.
Media/Sound
Smythe Street Youth is dedicated to using the latest media technology to relate to our culture’s needs and to also enhance our corporate and individual worship experience. We are always looking for people to get involved with our Sound and Media ministries. This may mean running sound or our projection stations for our MERGE youth services, graphic design, website design, video production and more.
